Description
A hand-painted portrait of your pet on glass, framed in solid wood. The painting is worked in reverse on the back of the glass, so the image sits behind the surface with a depth and luminosity that a print on paper cannot reproduce. It reads as a window rather than a picture.
Choose your size
- 8 x 10 inch — a desk or side-table scale, and the easier size to hang as part of a group.
- 11 x 14 inch — a proper wall piece, and the better choice as a single focal point above a bed, a mantel or a hallway table.

How it’s made

Which photographs work best
A clear, well-lit photo of the head and shoulders gives the strongest portrait. Side lighting, in particular, paints well — the shadows give the artist something to build the form with. Very dark photos, heavy filters and extreme close-ups are harder to work from, and we will tell you honestly if an image will not translate before you order.
Production and shipping
Every painting is made to order: allow 2–4 weeks for production, plus 7–15 days for delivery within the United States. Orders over $99 ship free.
Care
Dust the glass with a soft, dry cloth. Do not spray cleaner directly onto the surface or use anything abrasive — the painting is on the reverse of the glass, and while it is protected, the frame and finish are not designed for wet cleaning. Keep the piece out of direct sunlight so the colours stay true.
Common questions
How is this different from the copper frame version?
Same painting and the same sizes — the difference is the frame. Wood reads warmer and more casual; copper reads cooler and more formal. You can see the copper frame version here.
Can you paint two pets in one portrait?
Tell us what you have in mind and send your photographs, and we will confirm whether it works in the size you have chosen before you order.
Is it ready to hang?
Yes — the piece is framed and finished, and arrives ready to hang or stand.
