What to engrave

The classic layout is the pet’s name on one line and your phone number on the next. Many people add a second number, an address, or the words “I’m microchipped” or “Reward if found”. If you are ordering this as a memorial piece rather than a working tag, a name and dates work just as well — tell us the wording and we will set it out for you.

Production and shipping

Made to order: allow 2–4 weeks for production, plus 7–15 days for delivery within the United States. Orders over $99 ship free, so if you only want a tag, it is worth adding a keychain or a bookmark to reach the threshold.

Care

Stainless steel resists rust and tarnishing, so it needs very little looking after. Wipe it with a soft cloth. If the engraving ever looks dull, warm soapy water and a soft brush will bring it back — avoid abrasive polishes, which can blur the cut lettering.

Will the engraving rub off?

No. The lettering is cut into the metal rather than printed on it, so it stays legible through daily wear, water and the washing of a collar.

Can I engrave both sides?

Tell us what you would like and how much text you have, and we will confirm what fits before you order.

Is this a memorial piece or a working tag?

Either. Most people order it as a working tag while their pet is with them and keep it afterwards; others order it after a loss, with the pet’s name and dates, as something to keep on a key ring.
