Description
A ceramic mug with a hand-sculpted three-dimensional figure of your pet built onto the handle. The mug itself is ordinary in the best sense — it holds your coffee properly. The handle is the part that is not ordinary at all: a small clay portrait of your pet, modelled by hand from your photographs.
What’s included
- One ceramic mug with a hand-sculpted figurine on the handle
- Your pet’s face and markings modelled from your photographs
- A certificate of authenticity
How it’s made
- You place your order and send us your photographs.
- Our artists sculpt your pet by hand and attach it to the handle.
- The finished piece is checked, sealed and packed.
- Your mug is wrapped and shipped.
Choosing your photographs
A clear head-and-shoulders shot at eye level is all we need — the sculpture is small, so the face is what carries the likeness. Send more than one photo if you have them; side views help us get the ears and the muzzle right.
Production and shipping
Made to order: allow 2–4 weeks for production, plus 7–15 days for delivery within the United States. Orders over $99 ship free.
Care
Hand wash only. The sculpted figure is a three-dimensional piece of claywork on the handle, and a dishwasher cycle will damage it. Wash the mug by hand in warm water with a soft sponge, and avoid knocking the handle against the sink. Do not use it in the microwave.
Common questions
Is the figurine removable?
No — it is sculpted and finished as part of the handle, which is what makes the piece a single object rather than a mug with something stuck to it.
How does this differ from the printed photo mug?
This one carries a hand-made sculpture; the photo mugs carry a printed photograph and are dishwasher safe. Many people order a sculpted mug to keep at home and a printed one to use at work.
Can you sculpt a pet who has already passed away?
Yes. Many of the pieces we make are modelled from photographs of pets who are no longer here, and we treat those orders with particular care.
